The Top Shows in Las Vegas
Las Vegas has tons of great shows. We have summerized the ones we thought were the best and a must see when you visit. All the shows we listed are very popular and one should probably make ticket reservations in advance. It is also likely that you will get a better deal on the tickets before you get to Las Vegas.
- Cirque du Soleil definitely has the best shows in Las Vegas. It's a circus on steroids - better costumes, better music, and mind blowing acrobatics. They currently have four resident shows - "O", Mystère, Zumanity and KÀ (the *newest* show). There shows are different than their traveling shows, so you will not see it in your home town. "O" is in the Bellagio Hotel and is probably the best of all the shows. Zumanity is an cabaret-style production for adults only and is playing at the New York-New York Hotel. KÀ is the newest show and playing at the MGM Grand Hotel. Mystère is a classic Cirque du Soleil performance and is at the Treasure Island Hotel.
- Le Reve (The Dream in French) is one of the most popular new show in Las Vegas and tickets are very limited. Le Reve is playing in the Wynn Las Vegas hotel, where the theater was specifically designed for the show. It is a round theater and the audience sits all around the stage. Le Reve is a visual spectacle created by Steve Wynn himself and a
former Cirque du Soleil creative collaborator.
- The Blue Man Group is a spectacular show. If you have not seen it in another city, the Blue Man Group is a must see attraction. The show is as fun as Cirque du Soleil, but does a better job of overloading your senses. It's at the Venetian Hotel in a new 1750-person theater. The Venetian also has some of the best restuarants in Las Vegas, so you can make a whole evening out of it.
- Both Elton John or Celine Dion are definitley worth a night out in Vegas, if you like good live performance. Elton John's show, The Red Piano, is very dramatic and prefect for a romantic night. Celine Dion's show, A New Day, is definitely an great spectacle that has been one of the biggest hits of Las Vegas. They are both performing at Ceasar's Palace. You can start the evening with dinner at the Ballagio Hotel or the Venetian Hotel, both of which are half a block away from Ceasar's Palace.
- If you are looking for a musical in Las Vegas, the best one playing right now is Mamma Mia!. The musical is based on song by ABBA and has had rave reviews around the world. Mamma Mia is playing at Mandalay Bay Theater, but they have no shows on Friday. This means that the show is even more packed on Saturday, so you should definitely reserve your tickets in advance. If you have never been to the Mandalay Bay Hotel, it's worth a visit even though it's at one end of the strip.
